For the Love of Lipstick

Following on from my confession about having an obsession with nail varnish, I have a second one; my lipstick collection has grown at a rapid rate too. Despite me having an abundance of lipstick and lip crayons, from a variety of brands that I love, I never really wear them that much. Not only that but they all seem to be similar shade to my lips (that’s subtle pinks and nudes) that are pretty much variations of each other.

That picture doesn’t show half of it but the rest is pretty much the same. With this in mind, I decided to head out and hunt for a darker shade that would not only be a major difference from my casual ‘can be warn at anytime’ lippies but also perfect for AW. I went around various shops, and department stores, and couldn’t really see anything that was completely catching my eye without me being able to question the colour and finish. Eventually I headed into Superdrug (seeing as I can still use my student discount until December *heart breaks*) and wandered around scanning colours.

After plenty, and I mean some serious looking, I found Lasting Finish by Kate Moss for Rimmel London – Shade 30. I loved it instantly, but because the shade was so far out of my comfort zone I was uncertain about whether it suited me. And with plant my of time looking at the colour on my forearm I plucked up the courage to buy it.

Since then I’ve had to go out and buy another two, which were on a two for £10 deal, for when I run out of my initial one. To this day I haven’t been able to work out why I was only wearing subtle pinks all this time.

What colours are you wearing for AW15?

  2. You seriously can't go wrong with Rimmel Lipsticks. They have a great formula and are great quality = money well worth spent. I think everyone needs to be adventurours and try new colours! I recently tried more colours and all I was thinking was 'why haven't I tried this before?!'. Haha so yeah I ended up falling in love.

    • I know!! I couldn't believe it lasted for so long – I was staring at the colour for so long like 'I love you new lipstick'!!! I'm definitely going to step out of my comfort zone the AW I'll probably end up doing a whole wardrobe overhaul in the process too x

  3. The Rimmel lipsticks and liners are actually so amazing – I love my Mac but my all time favourite lip colour is by them!

Well, hi there!

I’ve never been one for ‘about me’ pages so let's keep it short and sweet: I'm 25 (so I guess you could assume I'm going through a quarter-life crisis), London-based, love food, oh, and partial to a rum-based drink... or just the rum tbh.
