Last week women’s lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan have hosted this year’s #FashFest in partnership with Visa. The five-day festival of fashion was rightly placed in the midst of LFW it only seemed right that, if I was going to attend for one night only, I should attend the Cosmopolitan to Catwalk on Day 4.
Not only did #Fashfest provide a few tokens for free food and drinks, but there was also endless music curated by SuperFoxx – with the one and only Krystal Roxx on the decks – as well as different beauty stands to get a quick makeover before the show.
The breakdown for this year’s #FashFest was:
DAY 1 (Monday) – The Lingerie Show
DAY 2 (Tuesday) – Meet the Celeb Stylists
DAY 3 (Wednesday) – Accessories Showcase
DAY 4 (Thursday) – Cosmopolitan to Catwalk – Venue: Battersea Evolution
DAY 5 (Friday) – Wrap Party
My oldest friend Vanessa turned 23 on the 12th so I got us both a ticket so we could have a glammed-up evening with prosecco, surrounded by fashion. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday evening I might add. The doors opened at 7, but being the way we are (constantly ‘fashionably late’) we were still getting ready at 7:20 having a complex about whether our boots matched our dresses.
When we finally got to Battersea Evolution Marquee it looked stunning. The whole glass building was lit in purple, with a pinky ‘very’ hue seeping through, with red carpets outside and in the foyer – very glam. I won’t lie – it was hard not to giggle a bit.
Greeted on the door with a lady who ticked our names off the list and presented us with our evening’s tokens we made our way through to the net area with the bars, beauty and King of the Booth photo booth. The evening definitely called for me to bring my Fuji Mini Instax 8 camera with me, with additional film, so when we weren’t in the booth it was ‘selfie, selfie, oh just one more… weird face!’ Nessa and I aren’t really normal.
There were cocktails from Żubrówka – plenty to go round with my fave being the Apple ZU – Baileys Flat White Martinis, and plenty of lipstick touch-ups before the main event, hosted by Laura Whitmore (yes, she is literally everywhere!)
Before the catwalk got underway Conor Maynard took to the stage to open the show, with some Craig David covers and a few of his own hits, getting everyone on their feet getting super excited for the main event featuring clothes from the high-street favourites – Asos, Boohoo. River Island, Evans, H&M, New Look and Missguided just to name a few. Yep, I pretty much want everything now! Then it was back to the main room for some after-party dancing and mac’n’cheese.
Safe to say I will be getting my hands on some more tickets next year!

I’ve never been one for ‘about me’ pages so let's keep it short and sweet: I'm in my twenties, London-based, love food, oh, and partial to a rum-based drink... or just the rum tbh.
