BEAUTY | L’Occitane x Pierre Hermé #thegiftiwanttokeep

L’OCCITANE is very much a staple product in our house,  and between my mum and me we pretty much buy the entire shop if we could. Every time we go in there we can literally spend hours looking through all the new things, the things we’ve seen before and basically just smelling the amazing products. As you can probably tell from my Facial with L’OCCITANE post (if you haven’t seen it already, take a look!) I love the French brand, so when their Christmas products, including the advent calendar came out, I had already been online in the morning to check them out – I even called Regent Street to ask them to keep two calendars, for me and my mum, so I could buy them before they sell out.

So L’OCCITANE have recently launched their Christmas products. I know it’s only October, but as I found out from the lovely PR ladies, they plan up to 6 months ahead! Now I can’t be the only one who loves when the Christmas items start to make an appearance, but limited edition Christmas items, that have never been done before, that smell amazing and are from a brand I love? Sold.

When I was in the shop I was walking around the counter like I was lost and confused, but in reality I was trying to decide which collection I would pick as my number one. 20 minutes later I was still undecided.

The Jasmine-Immortelle Neroli

When I was trying to figure out which of the two sets I preferred I was automatically drawn to the Jasmine-Immortelle-Néroli. Its subtle sweetness, stemming from its ties to the floral family, is so calming, and easily smells like something you would have in a spa for peace and tranquility.

Designed for women, the collection is delicately scented and great for anyone wanting to wear a fragrance that is in no way overpowering. To be honest, my first thought when I smelled the EDT was “spa in a bottle”. With néroli at the heart of the the product the shower gel and body lotion is a perfect way to layer up on fragrances and relax at the same time. If you don’t have time to get to a spa over the festive season this year, I wholeheartedly suggest you invest in some products from the collection.

Pamplemousse Rhubarbe

That’s Grapefruit and Rhubarb for those of us who don’t speak Français. Like I said before, I had a hard time trying to work out which of the sets I liked more. It’s probably because they’re two totally different scents. Where the Jasmine-Immortelle-Néroli has a sweet and calming smell, the Pamplemousse Rhubarbe is fresh and invigorating. And yet the two compliment each other because they are so different. It was until I had both EDTs sprayed on me that I realised I would never be able to decide. So I’m still torn between which one I would choose if I had to.

I’m not a morning person at all and can easily go hours without uttering a word unless I feel it is a reasonable hour, or just have no choice, so to me the shower gel from this collection is the best way to start my day. (I also like to eat grapefruit for breakfast sometimes and how Pierre Hermé managed to capture its taste in a shower gel – I will never know!) The set is designed for both men and women, and has been my morning wake up shower gel ever since it came in the house.

Both Christmas gift sets are priced at £55 and contain:

1x EDT 75ml

1x Body Milk (body lotion) 250ml

1x Shower Gel 50ml

1x Perfumed Soap 50g

Which is an absolute bargain as the EDT has a value of £48 by itself. So it’s just a matter of choosing which one to go for (or both if you’re like me – because they smell a.mazing!)

Well, hey there!

I’ve never been one for ‘about me’ pages so let's keep it short and sweet: I'm in my twenties, London-based, love food, oh, and partial to a rum-based drink... or just the rum tbh.
