I love bags, and accessories, basically anything I don’t actually need but is pretty anyway. Most of my bags have been either standard black or bright colours that give a pop but can’t actually match up with anything… Ever.
A few months ago I had manage to curb my habit of impulse shopping. How this happened I really don’t know, but I had been walking around Oxford Street every lunchtime and I couldn’t find anything I wanted to buy. About a month or so later, I was tottering around in and out of shops in Wimbledon when I found a cute chocolate brown River Island bag. I spent ages deliberating about whether I needed another bag, and whether I wanted it in brown. As per usual, I didn’t need another bag, so I left it, but of course I went bag for it a few weeks later.
As much as I love the bag it definitely needed that touch a colour that I usually go for. Recently I was introduced to Spanish Artisan brand Cabuxa, who specialise in creating accessories by using leather. Usually whenever I thought of leather it’s always been jackets, trousers and bags, but there are so many other ways that leather can be an additional feature to your everyday life.
So all collections have been designed by a small selection of artists and illustrators, which is pretty clear to see just by looking through the website, although there is a nude collection which is full of you simple staples, the rest of them have designs on them. I was immediately drawn to the Urban Nature collection with its Autumnal colour and the wheel that reminds me of the London eye. But when I got the brooch* and keyring* in the post the colours complimented the bag so well – perfect match!
I’ve put the brooch on the main zip of the bag but I’m not sure where I’m going to put the keyring just yet because I want it somewhere that it can be seen… I’m sure I’ll think of something soon.
