It’s weird to think how quickly the time has gone, but this time last year I was scrolling through evidence of an amazing night out at Cosmopolitan #FashFest 2015. I’m not sure how I came across it in the first place anymore but I had bought tickets for Vanessa and me for her birthday. This year, I got an email through about it again, and before I even had a chance to process it, Vanessa was sent me a screenshot like “have you seen this?!” Needless to say tickets were booked and we were back for round two.
So what actually happened?
This year the VIP Show and Party was held in on the bank of the River Thames in Old Billingsgate. Just like last year, Vanessa and I arrived slightly later than we had anticipated, and after checking in we were given our wristbands and a little shiny envelope with our tokens for food, drinks and a goody bag.
Once again we found ourselves with an Apple Zu in one hand and mac’n’cheese in the other. We wandered around and tucked into the macaroni cheese
After an amazing pre-show performance from Foxes, and a quick talk from Cosmopolitan Editor Farrah Storr and then it was on with the main show presented by Emma Willis!
I have to say that I’m seriously loving a lot of the collections featured during the show including a lot of pieces from New Look, Miss Selfridge, Boohoo, H&M and Next. What makes #FashFest so good is that it’s full of well-known high street brands so when you see something you like you know that you’re going to be able to go out and find it in the shop or online.
Once the catwalk had finished, there were cupcakes, strawberry cocktails, another Apple Zu, photo booth giggles and an eye-catching performance by Circus before it was time to call it a night and collect our goodie bags.
The only downside to #FashFest is that it happens on Thursday so we had to make a move because we had work tomorrow. Vanessa said this is something that we have definitely need to make an annual “us-thing” to do so our aim and I’ll have to agree… because who doesn’t love getting dolled up for a night of fashion and drinks with your best friend?!
I’ve never been one for ‘about me’ pages so let's keep it short and sweet: I'm in my twenties, London-based, love food, oh, and partial to a rum-based drink... or just the rum tbh.
