By the time Christmas comes, I’m usually fresh out of ideas about what to buy people as gifts. This year, I’ve been searching for some gifts and have found a few that are not only perfect to open the 25th but also great for use throughout the year.
I love a Yankee Candle; the fragrances and the colours are both amazing! Once you have one you just can’t help but develop an extensive collection. We have so many in the house already and there’s always have one burning in the living room.
When looking at buying them for gifts, I prefer to get a large jar because it can burn for up to 150 hours if burned properly; which basically means letting the wax melt all the way across. This year, I’ve opted for Christmas Day, but you can find out about the 2016 Holiday range here. (Prices vary depending on the size and type of candle).
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times – I love Burt’s Bees, it is by far one of my favourite brands. This year they have some amazing gift sets for any price range. So whether you’re after a stocking filler, or the main gift, they’ll have the perfect present to suit your needs.
The Naturally Nourishing gift set* (£9.99) is an ideal essential duo made up of a classic 100% natural beeswax lip balm and ultimate care hand cream. It’s perfect for throwing into a handbag, or if you know anyone who needs some intense TLC on the go.
For all over body care Burt’s Bag of Treats* (£19.99) is genuinely a bag of goodies! The set contains: a vitamin E & peppermint beeswax lip balm, milk & honey body lotion, peach & willowbark deep pore scrub – something I’ve personally been wanting for ages – and a little intense hydration night cream, which is perfect for restoring hydration during the bitter cold days. Oh and it all comes in this really pretty travel-sized wash bag.
You can find the perfect gift set and order straight from the Burt’s Bees website, these are just two out of many, and just as an FYI, there’s free delivery on all gift sets!
L’OCCITANE Milk Extra Gentle Soap
As it’s one of my favourite brands I’m always quick to suggest it to anyone. Even if the person you’re looking to get this for has sensitive skin there’s still the Shea range, which is so gentle.
I know bars of soap tend to be more ‘traditional’ but I love the milky texture that is this L’OCCITANE Extra Gentle Soap (£8)! What makes this bar in particular so great is that it’s made with a 100% vegetable base so there’s no cause for irritation and it’s super moisturising.
I really need to say much on this – fluffy slippers are the one and they are perfect for winter.
Hand cream trio
I doubt I’m the only female who has multiple bags, all of which I use one a regular basis, so you can imagine how hard it is to remember to make sure I have everything when I swap between them.
I feel like everyone should have a little Mad Beauty in their life to bring out their inner child. This hand cream trio* (£6.99) is practical and has cute quotes on the front so whoever has them can relive a Disney moment every time they use it. No wonder the collection is called ‘Never Too Old’. So you can always take a bit of Disney with you on the go – a practical essential that also has the sweetest quote on the front.
Perfume Studio ‘design your own fragrance’ sets
If you’re looking for a more personal gift, the Perfume Studio has sets to create your own bespoke fragrance. The Sensual Collection, is ideal for someone prefers woody notes and spices; The Romantic Collection suits those who love feminine floral accords; and The Natural Collection would be for anyone, like me, who love fresh citrus notes and white florals (£40 each).
I love all the things on this list, much to the disappointment of some friends who have asked for things – soz guys. If you’re stuck on ideas it’s definitely worth thinking about the type of person you’re buying for and the season, and that goes for any gifts not just for Christmas.
I’ve never been one for ‘about me’ pages so let's keep it short and sweet: I'm 25 (so I guess you could assume I'm going through a quarter-life crisis), London-based, love food, oh, and partial to a rum-based drink... or just the rum tbh.
